EDA: Different views on data aluSELECT: Aluminium Alloys Database

Different views on material data

For each alloy in aluSELECT a datasheet comprises all information in different sections, , as shown in Material properties .

Additionally the following views are available:

  • Comparison tables which show data in a spreadsheet form and allow the usual sorting, filtering operations, see Fig. 1

  • Statistics 1: For each column of overview tables a histogram can be created dynamically, see Fig. 2

  • Statistics 2: Parametrized statistics in form of boxplots can also be created dynamically, see Fig. 3

  • X-Y diagrams: You can create any x-y diagram by selecting the approriate columns, see Fig. 4

Comparison tables

Fig. 1: Comparision of Chemical Composition

Fig. 1 shows an exemplary comparison table. This can be used for materials selection by simple sorting and filtering (selecting the filter-icon at each column).

Statistics 1 - Histograms

Fig. 2: Histogram for Tensile Strength of Wrought alloys

Fig. 2 shows an exemplary histogram with some basic statistical data like, mean value, min, max and standard deviation. It can be created for any column in the comparison table dynamically by the user.

Statistics 2 - Boxplots

Fig. 3: Parametric Statistics: Tensile Strength against Silicon

Fig. 3 shows an exemplary parametrized statistic, which are visualized as boxplots. They can help to assess data, analyze trends, etc. Those views can be created for any column in the comparison table dynamically by the user.

XY-Diagrams

Fig. 4: Comparision of Yield Strength vs. Tensile Strength

Fig. 4 shows an exemplary XY diagram. Such view can be created for any two columns in the comparison table dynamically by the user. A third column can be created as an additional parameter to be displayed in different colors.
